Hannah and Noah were married on the most beautiful Thursday evening in April at one of West Virginia's premier venues, Gaines Estates in Fayetteville, WV. I arrived mid afternoon to find everything running so smoothly. Bessie's floral, one of my favorite local florists, was already there setting up, the venue staff was moving quickly and yet calmly to make sure all the details were aligned, and the reception area was already done and prepared to be photographed. Hair and make up was being finished inside and the boys were already done and were hanging out on the deck upstairs.
Days like this remind me of why I chose wedding photography.
Everyone was kind and so welcoming, which is a big deal as a vendor! We know we are often the outsiders and being made to feel like we belong means the world! Hannah's mom told stories of the day she got married and while everyone giggled, the bridesmaids cleared the room for photographs. Tim arrived from school just in time to get some family shots of Noah and his family before we prepared for the first look.
Custom ties were handed out, tears were shed, and then it was time for Noah to see his bride. She came down the stairs of the estate slowly and quietly. As the mothers looked on, he turned to see his bride. Elevated Media owner, Rob Atha, and I quietly shifted positions capture each angle and Noah tried to hold back his tears, unsuccessfully.
After wedding party and family pictures, it was time to have a ceremony! The director told me it was the first to be held under this giant Oak Tree, but I feel certain now will not be the last because it was a beautiful location!
The ceremony went perfectly as friends and family watched on under the clearest blue sky you've ever seen. We shot almost everything before the ceremony so this allowed the couple 20 minutes to sit alone and soak up the day; may I highly recommend this trend!
EJ the DJ was found inside and it didn't take him long to get the party started, with the help of the grooms brother and a money machine.
This wedding was a 10/10 and I pray they are able to relive this perfect day over and over through their images.
